Week 7

Ferrara vs Tuqan

Team Ferrara

This morning the World Health Organization released some breaking news that they are shifting focus away from all the other tragedies in the world and focusing on the rape and pillage of a small group of men in Denham springs Louisiana. They said, “this was a brutal beating that was worse and more savage than ever seen before.” Haf did his best to stand up to the Ferrara clan, and was held to a measly 25. Team Ferrara decided to allow everyone on the team to equally take part in the public flogging. With Faircloth grabbing 22 (1.46 points per mile driven), Allen and Arcement snagging 17 a pop, and Cory grabbing 15. Even Simon grabbed 2. To add to the public humiliation, Menter rebounded every single shot, and held the ball above his victim’s heads and laughed for all 21 of his rebounds. He put on a clinic on how to be the big man. Snow said that he wanted no part of this massacre, so he bowed out by breaking (rolling) his ankle at the Louisiana marathon. The rest of us will be turned away at the pearly gates for what we did Sunday afternoon, but not Snow. Snow will be turned away too, but for something else he did and not the war crime that his peers performed. Team Ferrera also learned how to play ball in the third quarter, something very new to the squad. We are excited to continue to actually do things during that part of the game. We will have to tune in next week to see if we can continue to break another team’s spirit.

Wall vs Hebert

Arcement vs Davenport

Team Davenport

The cursed season continues for Team NeLLLLLLson Davenport as our best game of the season came against a souped-up Team Arcement. TA was without their leading scorer in Thomas Bickham, but replaced him with Giant Georgian Jordan Faircloth, who proceeded to tear us up for about 15 offensive rebounds and 20 second-chance points. They also replaced Alex “0.0 Threes/Game” Anderson with Patrick “Second in the League in Threes Made” Arcement, getting just about half their points in this game from their subs. Team Davenport drops to 0-6 with Nelson on the court as we continue to turn losses into learning opportunities. We’re really tired of learning.

Team Arcement

Team Arcement entered week 7 down both their top 2 draft picks against a hungry Team Davenport. The game was close all the way through. TD caught fire from behind the arc and crashed the offensive glass hard in the 2nd/3rd to provide a little lead when heading to the 4th. TA wasn’t fazed being down and enjoyed solid contributions from subs Faircloth/Patrick Arcement. The fourth quarter was a highly contested quarter of consistent lead changes. Ultimately TA relied on their captain to finish the game strong. It ended with TA up 2 points and Will icing the game with 2 free throws to go up 4 and out of reach. Special Shoutout to Carter Reed for battling Nelson all game defensively and making him hit tough shots. Nelson still did in fact make most of those tough shots but TA appreciates the defensive effort. TA looks to get a full squad intact for the final few weeks of the season.

Coogan vs West

Team Coogan

Team Coogan vs. Team West was tight through the first half, but the third quarter told a different story as Team Coogan finally pulled away and never looked back. Randy led the charge with 22 points, while Coogan added 20 of his own. Pecue chipped in 10, Richard finished with 13, and Rutland added 6 to round out a balanced attack.

Team West, meanwhile, heads back to the drawing board after taking a convincing loss. Zach West was clearly frustrated postgame, confidently declaring, “We’ll beat them by 30 next time we play.” Bold words after getting your ass beat like this.

Joy vs Aillet

Navarre vs Brantley

Team Navarre

The game started with Brantley coming out hot jumping on Team Navarre with 10 unanswered points before anyone could blink. Team Navarre eventually settled in, thanks to BooBoo knocking down three threes, keeping things respectable by the end of the first quarter.

The second quarter, however, is where things took a turn. The wheels fell off, the rim shrank, and as Scott Sumner would say, the basket officially had a lid on it.  Team Navarre managed just 2 points in the quarter, while Brantley poured in 17, creating a gap that was tough to close.

Down two key scorers, mounting a comeback in the second half proved difficult for Team Navarre. Brantley didn’t help matters, as Patton and the crew moved the ball extremely well, finding open looks and getting contributions from just about everyone. Offensively and defensively, they are solid from top to bottom.

Shout out to Austin F for subbing in on short notice.

Legends

Martin vs Boyce

Team Boyce

Team Boyce came out trying to start a blaze similar to Smittys Supply just across the parish line. A first quarter lead of 18-2 was insurmountable by Team Martin. Our Captain and Co Captain apparently went and got hair cuts together Friday and schemed a game plan that worked flawlessly against our opponent. Boyce and Lato stayed hot from the outside knocking down a combined seven three’s while co captain Deaton played great defense on Levesque holding him to six points. Team Martin mounted a bit of a comeback led by captain Shane, who led his team with 10 but it was too little, too late as the mercy whistle blew with two minutes left. For the second game in a row everyone scored, including the ageless wonder Haggai with 12, which spurred multiple comments from the opposition-“Who the F**k is that guy?!”, just the way we like it….

Pitre vs Gage

Dornier vs Lambert

Team Dornier

As low scoring as this game was, it was a good game — our team played well with Team Lambert doing great job of moving around and picking —

We had a chance for the win at 28-28 when Steve Davis got called for a hook with 8 seconds to go driving to the basket, and Dean capitalized by hitting a 3 pointer with 2 seconds left to give TL the win — MVP goes to Macha who led all score with 15 or so

Great game, congrats team lambert

Ringe vs Tate

Warde vs Smith
