Varnado 47

Albin 68

Varnado:

Team Varnado now has more hurt backs than 3 pointers made. Team Albin too hot to start and could never catch up. Steve smith’s arms were sorely missed as we could have used them to replace our back muscles.

Albin:

Coming off of the Holiday break, TV 3-0 vs TA 3-0 was set to be a dog fight. Luckily for TA, they came out hot and jumped to an early lead. The Bigs(Pearce, Leblanc & Deaton) battled against Murphy & Phillips, trading buckets and hard fouls in the first half. After several adjustments during halftime, TA pushed the pace in the 3rd with Hoang Nguyen running the show and extended the lead. While Varnado was out in the 4th with an injury, TA was able to keep the lead and coast to the Victory.

Aillet 69

Navarre 46

Aillet:

Huge get right game for Team Aillet. With only 5 players available due to some unexpected last minute roster scratches from highly respected award winning members of the club, TA was left short handed.  TA jumped out to an early lead and never let up, securing the win. It was a balanced attack from the 5 that decided to show up with 4 scoring in double digits.

Fogle 61

Walker 71

Walker:

What a matchup Sunday night in Denham Springs LA. To be honest, the situation looked dire going into the game. Team Walker needed a win in the worst way but was playing a team that had two of the best big men BRAAS has ever seen. Team Walker came out and scored the ball pretty well going point for point with TF taking a small lead after 1. The second quarter saw much of the same with Team Walker taking a 36-32 lead at the break. The 3rd quarter Team Walker started to pull away a bit. Scoring from Rico, Boyce, Moses and Walker stretched the lead to 59-40 after 3. Big props on the defensive side of the ball… Fogle and Wilson didn’t score in the 3rd which is a major feat considering the players they are. That changed in the 4th however with Wilson and Fogle scoring at will to pull the game back to within 7. Team Walker kept pace with timely scoring by all and closed out the game on a free throw.

Fogle:

Same old story for our group . . . down by a lot at one time fought hard to get back in it and lost by 10. One win wonders at this point of the season.  Team P Walker made the shots and rebounded very well. Captain, Moses, Rico, Eaton, and others ate our lunch going for 70 during the contest! We did not play particularly well in any facet of the game honestly but luckily we can play again this coming Sunday and prove we are better.

Haf 57

Faircloth 67

Haf:

Team Haf loses a tough one to Team Faircloth by 10 or so.

TF jumped out to a quick lead and tried to run away with the game but TH buckled down on defense and held TF to a 9 point 2nd quarter to claw back into the game.  The second half saw TF get warm from 3 with and Wells hit about a dozen free throws in a row to ice the game.

TH was led again by our own personal Charles Barkley – Tim Roussel – who powered his way inside for some tough buckets and stepped back and hit some clutch 3’s as well.  Everyone chipped in points wise (and foul wise) with Sean Murray and Patton Brantley both getting double digits and Cory Williams with some good minutes off the bench.  Again, an undetermined number of rebounds from Treg – who has also enjoyed his first 4 game stretch without a broken nose in 5 years.   Our overall shooting percentage from downtown was maybe 20% – time to channel our inner splash brothers and get this thing heated up.

Arcement 73
Allen 62

Arcement:

We came back from the 3 week break expecting some rust and missing 2 players – Mayers and Harger, but we played surprisingly well from the start. Scoring spread around from our team in the first half as Team Arcement took a 37-30 lead at the half. Most of Team Allen started off ice cold in the 1st half but Sumner scored 25 of their 30 first half points to keep it close. We pulled away in the 3rd going on a big run and getting it to at least a 20 point lead at one point. Sloppy play by team Arcement down the stretch and some improved shooting from the rest of the squad from team Allen got it to around 10 points late but we were able to hold them off for the 11 point win. Firmin led scoring with 27 (including 3 threes), followed by 26 from Randy to spark the big 2nd half run. Great all around game for team Arcement on both ends as we advance to 2-1 on the year
