Team Allen (25 ) – Team Pogue (7)

TEAM ALLEN:  Team Pogue kicked things off by driving down the field and scoring an easy touchdown.

Team Allen didn’t even flinch. Jason Leaphart hits Steve Davis for a TD to tie things up.

Pogue’s momentum? Gone. They followed up with a turnover on downs

Leaphart, feeling it, took the team down again and hit 7-foot-Salmon on a cross for a touchdown.

Just when Pogue thought they might bounce back, Austin Fontenot takes an interception and decides to pitch the ball 20 yards back like he’s playing rugby to make things more difficult for Leaphart. A few plays later, Fontenot redeemed himself on an out route for a touchdown.

The second half turned into the 7-foot-Salmon and Leaphart show. They hooked up for a few more TDs, capping off the performance with a 7-foot-Salmon interception to lock up the game.

TEAM POGUE:

Team Pogue came looking for a strong game after a devastating loss to Team Pecue.  We marched down the field on the opening drive and Superstar Rookie, Ben Kitto, caught a TD pass.  Team Allen responded with a touchdown of their own.  Team Pogue’s second drive began promisingly enough until we faced a crucial fourth down conversion attempt.  Menck found a way to slip behind the defense and genius quarterback, Pogue, decided to throw up a prayer on fourth and one.     Unfortunately, God is just and does not reward stupid decisions.

After the turnover on downs, Team Allen wasted little time going moving the ball towards the endzone.  The defense nearly had a stop when Pogue jumped a slant for what appeared to be a sure interception.  Alas, the pass fell incomplete due to a beautifully executed flying knee by Boo Boo.  His hours of Connor McGregor film study saved a turnover and successfully crippled the opposing team captain.  Team Allen rubbed salt in the wound by driving for a score shortly thereafter.

After that things continued to go off the rails…..one has to wonder if the encouraging words of former BRAAS member and world’s greatest flag football player, Trent Davis, could have made a difference.

Team Arcement (26) – Team Pecue (18)

TEAM ARCEMENT:  Team Arcement vs. Team Pecue battled in an entertaining game with lots of scoring. TA opened the scoring with a pick 6 on the opening drive of the game. TA controlled the first half and lead by two scores after a TP goalline stand before the half. The second half had big plays from both teams, but ultimately TA’s Pevey lead offense maintained the lead throughout. The game ended 26-18 to TA.

TEAM PECUE:  Team Pecue got the ball first, couple plays in, a tipped pass was caught by Arcement for a pick 6.
Then TP got on the board with a Lane Pitre TD catch.

TA marched down and scored on its next possession thanks to a slow and steady offensive approach from Pevey.
A turnover on downs by TP and a huge 4th down sack right before half by Trevor lead to a 13-6 halftime score.  TA got the ball first in the 2nd half. We were sick of Pevey running the option so we blitzed and he burned us deep on a pass to Arcement.

TP then went down and scored on a beautiful jumping toe tap catch by the ageless Lane Pitre.
TA scored on the ensuing drive by you guessed it, Arcement…

TP added a TD late by Salmon but TA got a first down with 5 plays left and ended the game 26-18

Team Davenport (35) – Team McKee (6)

TEAM DAVENPORT:  Unlike tonight’s game, this write up won’t be over quick because the stat sheet is long. In what some people are calling a thrashing, Team Davenport takes the 35-6 win.

Josh Pratt had an impressive game, contributing significantly to the team’s offense with two rushing and two passing TDs. His only downfall was scoring too quickly that the rest of the team couldn’t get involved.

In the receiving game, both Captain Nelson Davenport and Marcus Lasseigne made their mark, each catching a touchdown pass. Nelson’s reception added excitement to the scoreboard. Alex Anderson and Adam Swales were instrumental in converting crucial plays, successfully executing two one-point conversions. Through all the scoring, sportsmanship still shined through when Swales took a dive on the final play so as to not run up the score.

Marcus not only secured a touchdown but also showcased his defensive skills with an interception. Swales, not to be outdone, made a game-changing play with a pick-six, turning the tide early.

Someone needs to call the housing authority because Stefan was living rent free in the back field with two sacks, multiple pressures, and a batted ball. the offense may have still caught it but it was enough to disrupt the quarterback’s rhythm and showcase his ability to penetrate the offense.

Those not mentioned in this article very much contributed in a full team effort, however, they have asked for Pratt to slow down his rapid scoring and to try and check down a time or two, So they can get in the write ups next week.

TEAM MCKEE:  Team McKee had all kinds of problems this week. Between a couple of interceptions thrown and couple of sacks endured our offense was woefully lacking. Saved face with a deep bomb from Austin Bouzigrad to Guy Hymel.  Team Davenport took the W 35-6 before the refs called the game to end the embarrassment. We’ll be switching some stuff up and hopefully bring a full squad next week for redemption.

Team Desselle (13) – Team May (20)

TEAM DESSELLE – Team Desselle came out swinging for the fences and threw a bomb on the second play. Unfortunately we threw a touchdown to the wrong team and the pick was returned 95 yards for a pick 6. The rest of the game was pretty evenly matched. The pick 6 ended up being the deciding score. Team may 20-13 over team Desselle.

TEAM MAY:  Team May opened the game on defense and their A+ scouting department immediately showed its worth. As Team Desselle ran the same opening plays they ran last week, TM was prepared, nearly intercepting the first pass, before Kyle Hebert picked the second throw and took it to the house. 6-0, still struggling at XPs. TD recovered on the next drive and was able to tie the game 6-6. With 6 minutes left in the first half, Hebert moved TM down the field with throws to Cory Levey and Parker Marschall before finding Danton Alexius in the back of the endzone for the touchdown. 13-6 at half.

TM got the ball to start the second half and again was able to move the ball down the field with a few runs and short passes. The drive ended in a TD run by Brett May. 20-6. TM’s bend but don’t break defense once again led by Edgar Ronconcio and Dan Cuendet, forced TD into a lot of time consuming short plays, before giving up a score to make it 13-20. Team May was able to run the clock down to 7 plays and after a long pass over the middle to Michael Sumner, was inside the 10 yard line. The drive stalled there though, giving TD a few plays remaining.

On the final play, Hebert intercepted Crader’s throw to the endzone to end the game.
