Flag Football Week 3

Faircloth 20 – Pogue 19

Faircloth – Team Pogue took the opening drive to the 2 yard line but could not get it in the endzone. Team Faircloth’s backup QB (Tom Brady – I mean – Craig Ourso) was able to connect with Tyler Pecue on the second play of the drive for a length of the field TD. Extra point was no good. Team Pogue scored as time expired in the first half to tie the game at 6-6.

The second half began with a time consuming drive that ended with a TD pass to sub Trevor Schexnyder for Team Faircloth. Another point after missed. Team Pogue drives down for a score to tie the game at 12-12. Extra points seem difficult at this point.

Team Faircloth starts the next drive with a tipped ball that is intercepted on the 20 yard line. Peevy does his magic again to score their third TD of the night. This time the point after is successful. Team Pogue leads 19-12 with very little time left.

Team Faircloth starts moving the ball and time runs out and there are only 7 plays left. On the 2nd play, Tom Brady – dam sorry, I mean Craig Ourso, hits Pecue again and he out runs everyone to the endzone. Team Faircloth decides to go for the win and go for two. Gutsy call since we  had not made any extra points yet. But we saved the best play for last and Trevor was wide open for the two point conversion to go up 20-19.  Pecue intercepts a Hail Mary pass to end the game.

Pogue – Title: Intense Flag Football Match Ends in Heartbreaking Defeat

In a highly anticipated flag football game, and the return of Blake Hannegan brought excitement to the field. Hannegan showcased his speed and agility, zipping across the field, but occasionally forgot the flag football aspect, resulting in numerous dives instead of scoring touchdowns. Nevertheless, his contributions were crucial in sustaining drives. Peavy played a versatile role, running for first downs and throwing crucial passes. He led the offense to three touchdowns, including two through the air.

As the first drive stalled out near the goal line, with the team unable to punch the ball in from the 2-yard line. Team Pogue fell behind early due to a blown coverage, allowing the opponents to score. Additionally, a pulled hamstring suffered by Rookie Lasseigne forced him to sit out for the remainder of the game. However this would lead to Kokesh rising to the occasion to score the first touchdown for Team Pogue, injecting some much-needed energy into the game.

Trent Davis rushed for the second touchdown, leveling the score and igniting hopes of a comeback. A late second-half interception by Hannegan set the stage for Davis to catch a touchdown pass, followed by a successful extra point, giving Team Pogue a late lead.

With team captain Pogue injuring his finger. Pogue remained in the game showing the rookie “this is how it’s done”. Tyler Pecue made a miraculous last-minute catch, and a gutsy 2-point conversion attempt left Team Pogue in a 20-19 defeat. defensive woes continue to plague the team, and with mounting injuries, other players will need to step up to fill the gaps. They look forward to next weeks match up, and look to improve on all aspects

Navarre 7 – Holaway 34

Holaway – This game was over before Leaphart took his first snap! Team Holaway started hot and stayed hot in this top tier QB match up. B. Pitre scored on the first play from scrimmage with a dump pass up the middle. With no Leaphart in sight Dan the man Cuendet wanted the rock. He was able to move the ball.. briefly. After more completions than the started we were able to get a 4 and out and get the ball back into Hebert’s hands. After a few nice completions, He found Lockwood in the corner to make it a 2 Tuddy lead! Team Navarre was trying to get something going to get back into this game.. however Holaway jumps a route and picks off the little bit of momentum Team Navarre had going. After a good return, Hebert found an unguarded Holaway in the middle of the field for another quick score! Second half was a mirror of the 1st.. no offense for Navarre and a balanced attack by team Holaway….Not much more to write up but a few more TD’s for Team Holaway by Hebert and CT. Final score 34-7 Good Guys! Side note… Speedy recovery for my guy Blake LeBlanc.. hate to hear it!

Navarre:  Dan Cuendet started at QB for Team Navarre and was nearly flawless. He completed all his passes before an errant snap stalled the drive.

Other than that, it was a pretty rough showing from TN.

In other news, apparently it is considered a first down even if you don’t cross the first down line, as long as you get close.

Aillet 13 – Pearce 7

Aillet Defense was the theme of the night with the week 3 matchup of Team Aillet vs Team Pearace. TP came in with a plan to limit TA offensive possession and it almost worked but they forgot their offense needed to score also. TP first drive of the game chewed up 75% of the 1st half clock which eventually led to a turnover on downs near the endzone. TA put together a long drive of their own that finished with Garret connecting with Aillet for a TD right before halftime. TP was able to eventually get on the board with a pick six in the 2nd half making it a 7-6 game. TA answered back with Aillet and LeBlanc connecting on a long touchdown the following drive. The game finally ended how it started with TA defense making a stand, Grob INT sealed the win.

Pearce – Another week, another loss.

Desselle 27 – LeBlanc 18

Desselle – Team Desselle came out hot scoring on the first drive on a nice run by walker. TD managed to get a stop on the first defensive drive. On the second drive TD moved the ball downfield again scoring on a long pass to desselle. Went into the half 14-0. The second half was more of the same with heine and Allen both catching tds. Unfortunately they had a few bad injuries on team Leblanc in the second half. We wish y’all a speedy recovery
