Week 9

Mansur(45) Vs Levesque(57)

Mansur: Really good BRAAS Basketball game.  Well played by both teams.  A lot of free running and plenty of clean looks at the basket without beating everyone up.

TL jumped ahead 7-0 to start the game and TM closed out the first qtr down 10-9 led Captain Mansur’s 5 points.

2nd qtr was all TL with George(6),Ringe (5),and St. Cyr (5) kicking our arses!  Demo led TM with 7 points.  Halftime 31-21 TL.

2nd half saw Macha wake up and score all 8 of his points.  TM cut the lead down to 7 with just under 3 minutes left but could not get any closer.

TM scored a season high with consistent team scoring.  Morel (12), Mansur (10), Macha (8), Pursiful (8), and Bueche(7).

Not to be overlooked was Dugas playing a wicked defensive post game against Corey and Levesque.  They were simply too big for all of us.  We will try again next week.

Clint Smith – out (Groin Injury)

Ralph Stephens – out (Broken Rib)

Levesque: we scored 57, no write up needed

Dukes(50) Vs Dartez(46)

Dukes: This was a rough(we had 18 fouls), hard-fought game pretty much from start to finish and I’m glad we came out on top. I don’t think either team led by more than 5 during the game. We had a chance to win it in regulation, but a massive brain fart caused us to not attempt a shot. Thankfully that didn’t backfire on us and we were able to close it out in OT.  Thanks to the net replacement our shots were falling this week, which is always a plus. Scott Reitzell broke out of his 1 game slump to lead us in scoring with 15. On to the next one.

Dartez: I get a pass this week

Peytavin(33) Vs Lambert(32)

Peytavin: I’m going back to Open league next season

Lambert: I’m still confused on when to submit write-ups

Kelly(28) Vs LeDoux(43)

Kelly: Team Kelly got whipped.  We couldn’t stop Dean Esposito, or anyone else for that matter.  Got behind right off the bat and it never really felt competitive.  Team Kelly seems to be spiraling downward, just in time for a great playoff surge! Congrats to the better team.

Missing: Plaisance, Peltier

LeDoux: Team LeDoux per the usual had another great showing.  All hands on deck. Unfortunately Team Kelly was missing Dplay and JP So I’m sure it would’ve been a better game two more players. But we still had a good game. Team L came out red hot with several inside baskets from Capt and DeanO before Team K could call time out.  We calmed down a little and worked on our passing game. Even without their two starters, Roy underneath, DePaul and Graham shooting and Goliath in the middle with his jump shots played great.

But my guy with that tenacious defense held again. 43-28.

Smith(43) Vs Goscha(38)

Smith: I’m off the grid

Goscha: The game was a journey that led us to our third loss in a row. Our team has become the definition of the walking wounded. Grassman “toes” out for the season, Shaheen sick, Ourso hamstring, Goscha lower back,George Lato concussion, Shaheen shoulder and so it goes. Team Goscha despite the pain hung close losing by 5 or 6, but Smith proved to be too much dumping in a game high 20 points. Team Goscha got nice contributions from Crick and Landry on the offensive end. Ourso handled the ball well and played great defense. T. Lato and G. Lato both gave it all they had leading the team in effort. Jason Landry is a constant motivator and made me laugh at least three times yelling for us to step it up. I wish we had the energy to meet his expectations of us.

Kudos to the young guys at Walk-Ons. They outnumbered the More seasoned older guys for the first time all season. Dugas “Doogie” was said to have been at Walkons all day from 4:00 until. That’s solid effort from one of my favorites. “I’ve got a joke for you”! Team Goscha looks to rebound and get healthy over the next two weeks and find a way to finish above 500.
