OPEN RECAPS – WEEK 3 – December 4th

Team Sumner 57 – Team Haf – 51

SUMNER:

Everyone comes out on fire against us. They hit several 3’s early while we struggled shooting and made a bunch of bad passes/turnovers. We got out on some fast breaks and beat them back for some layups to stay close. We did a better job in the second half pushing the ball and kept them from getting as many second shots. Damon and Tim got some strong finishes or fouls in the paint and we knocked down our freethrows

HAF – No recap provided – No wonder he drafted George last year, just for the write ups.

Team Hebert 55 – Team Albin – 61

ALBIN:

Team Albin again started SLOW, getting outscored 21-8 in the first. Team Hebert did shoot 95% from the field so we hoped that wouldn’t last all game. Maybe it was Team Albin’s trash talk(jmart) that wore on Team Hebert, but at half the score was 27-33, advantage Hebert. A Couple of halftime adjustments from each team, the third quarter was high scoring with both teams heating up from three(Hebert & Alliett). Going into the fourth, the score was 42-51 with Team Hebert still in the lead. TA applied some much needed pressure and forced TH into a few turnovers which cut the lead to only a few. Several Free Throws by TA helped gain the advantage with only a minute to go. Rookie Thomas Bickem aka Mr. Clutch hit two from the strip, resulting in a comeback win to remain undefeated.

HEBERT – No recap provided – This team has Ryan Allen – put him to work on recaps.

Team Pearce 59 – Team Troulier 49

No recap provided from either.  I heard this game was all hugs and kisses though.

Team Alexander 52 – Team Navarre  62

NAVARRE:

Finally!! The “snake” Blake Eaton returns to the hardwood. He brought the needed defensive intensity and ran the point to perfection setting up our shooters. He also stepped up to the challenge of guarding Alexander on the never ending LSD court.

We finally came out scoring in the first quarter unlike our first two games. That didn’t roll over to the 2nd qtr. We turned the ball over 3-4 times in a row in the 2nd allowing wide open layups. The 2nd half was a close back and forth game until midway in the 4th quarter when both Randy and Danny stepped up and hit a few threes to increase our lead.

ALEXANDER – No recap provided.  They did shoot 66.6666667% from the free throw line in this game though.

Team Arcement 71 – Team Varnado 51

ARCEMENT:

We came out hot in this one. Got up early and held the lead the whole way. Pulling away late to get the 20 point win. Credit to Team Varnado for keeping pace. We pushed the ball up the floor a lot and went on a few runs hitting threes but they kept answering. Lead was cut to 6 at one point in the 2nd half, but in the end the 17 threes and the bomb it til you vomit mentality of team Arcement were too much for TV. Nelson continues to lead the way scoring for us with 28 in this one. It was a great team win for TA – all 6 players in this one scored. Needless to say TA are fans of the big court at LSD after our OT loss at PARDS last game. Just like Les Miles said about the ’07 Tigers “we’re undefeated in regulation” so far. Next week should be fun against Trouiller’s team as the top two 3 point shooting teams square off. Hope the rims are ready

VARNADO – No recap provided.  Bummer.
